- Set the air fryer to 360°F and preheat for 5 minutes.
- Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle approximately 6 inches in diameter on a lightly floured surface.
- In a mixing bowl, combine chicken, mozzarella, Parmesan, Alfredo sauce, spinach if using, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir until evenly incorporated.
- Spoon one quarter of the filling onto half of each dough circle, leaving a 1/2-inch margin at the edge.
- Optionally, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the filling for added crispiness.
- Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Pinch edges firmly to seal and use a fork to crimp for additional security.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg, followed by a light drizzle or brush of olive oil.
- Set calzones in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry in batches if required.
- Air fry at 360°F for 12 to 15 minutes until the calzones are golden brown and crisp.
- Allow calzones to cool for 2 to 3 minutes before transferring to plates and serving.
