Chocolate Banana Bites Peanuts (Printer-friendly)

Creamy banana slices dipped in dark chocolate, topped with roasted peanuts for a sweet snack.

# What You'll Need:

→ Fruit

01 - 2 large ripe bananas

→ Chocolate Coating

02 - 7 oz dark chocolate (60–70% cocoa), chopped

→ Topping

03 - ¼ cup roasted unsalted peanuts, roughly chopped

→ Optional

04 - 1 tsp coconut oil

# How to Prepare:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Peel the bananas and slice into ½ inch thick rounds. Arrange them evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
03 - Place the baking sheet in the freezer and chill the banana slices for 30 minutes until firm.
04 - In a heatproof bowl over simmering water, melt the dark chocolate with coconut oil if using, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.
05 - Dip each frozen banana slice into the melted chocolate, coating all sides. Let excess chocolate drip off before placing back onto the parchment-lined sheet.
06 - Immediately sprinkle chopped peanuts over each chocolate-coated banana slice before the coating sets.
07 - Continue dipping and topping all remaining banana slices.
08 - Freeze the assembled bites for a minimum of 30 minutes until the chocolate is fully set.
09 - Transfer the bites to an airtight container and keep frozen until serving.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • They're frozen, creamy, and require zero baking skill—just melting and dipping.
  • A single batch stays fresh in your freezer for weeks, giving you guilt-free snacking whenever cravings hit.
  • The contrast between cold banana, rich chocolate, and crunchy peanuts hits all the texture notes at once.
02 -
  • Frozen banana matters—a room-temperature banana will slide off your fork mid-dip and land in the chocolate bowl, which I've done more times than I care to admit.
  • Add peanuts while the chocolate is still warm and slightly tacky; if you wait until it's fully set, they won't stick and will just tumble off.
03 -
  • Keep your chocolate bowl warm by placing it back over the simmering water if it starts to thicken—thick chocolate is harder to dip evenly.
  • If your chocolate seizes or gets grainy while melting, add a tiny splash of neutral oil and stir patiently; it usually recovers.
